THE FUCHKA BIRTH
Once upon a time, back in 2003, a Finnish lady travelled to Bangladesh to meet her parents-in- law. At the dawn of the first day, it was time to go out for a visit at the local bazaars for shopping and dinner. The Finnish daughter-in-law was introduced to the local finger food, fuchka.
Fuchka conquered her heart, but it took as long as 12 years before her idea of bringing fuchka to Finland really came true. It required one brave open-minded and hard-working entrepreneur: the Bangladeshi university student Rocky. He saw his opportunity for a restaurant of his own had come so he decided to realise his dream far from his home country - in the very Finnish Oulu.
It was very demanding to develop a completely new food product, unknown to Finnish people. The team started with empty hands. Even back at the home country of fuchka, Bangladesh, nobody prepared fuchka by themselves, so there was no help to be expected from home. It took half a year to learn to prepare fuchka covers with the level of crispiness that was satisfactory for the team. Valuable help was received from a multinational group of students from the Oulu Service School. Finally the team was happy with the result and the foundation for the FUCHKA restaurant was ready.
The doors of the FUCHKA restaurant were opened in early 2015 for the delight of Oulu people. Nowadays FUCHKA has a loyal customer base that has grown very fond of the special Bangladeshi food. Fuchka has come to be what it is today through many important tips and development ideas from the customers.
Welcome to enjoy delicious Bangladeshi Fuchka food prepared with love!
